20 different clubs as a part of Extra Curriculum Activities
1. Fun with Science Club
Science always promotes the sense of Inquisitive mind among it's learners.
To provide inspiration for the pursuit of scientific knowledge in a way that broadens the
scientific outlook of the students, to help the students in imbibing the habit of
self-reliance, self- dependence and also to generate the interest among the students for
scientific discoveries, scientific facts and events related to our surroundings, to
stimulate active participation and training the students in scientific methods of problem
solving and developing their psycho-motor skills.
2. Drama Club
A drama club is said to be a structural design for students who are
interested in learning more about the aspects of theatre. This includes learning stage
terminology, working on acting skills, costume design and expressions. Drama club helps
students to get comfortable, warmed up and focused in expressing themselves. Students will
participate in various skits and acting exercises, work on memorising lines and delivering
them with expression and contribute to the production of a final production. Students will
develop and increase their self-confidence, improve their communication and language
skills.
They will also improve concentration along with that they will enhance their creative
thinking, emotional intelligence and can form lasting bonds and friendship.
3. The Literary Club
“The most enigmatic of works often comes from the craziest minds"
The Literary Club has a range of activities planned for the Session commencing from April to
December, 2023.The Club Members are from the English and Language Departments. The objective
of the Literary Club is to offer guided activities to the students where they will share
their insights on environment, politics, philosophy ,spirituality ,etc. Under this banner we
have - (1) The Reading Forum & (2) The Writers' Forum
Hence activities will range from Recitation, Book Review, Tell-a Tale ,Word-Wizard to
Scavengers Hunt, Debate, Role Play, Journalism, to name a few. The Celebrations will include
a Literary Week, Hindi Divas and Assamese Divas observation. The Literary Club will
culminate with the publication of a Newsletter, a Report and a Journal by the students.
4. Entrepreneurship and Design Thinking Club
India in coming years will be one of the top 3 largest economy of the world, where Indians are expected to be the Job Providers not the Job Seekers. Our Entrepreneurship Programme is all about the big picture. The major objectives of this Programme are-
1. To provide a way for young entrepreneurs to meet , share and learn from others about what it takes to initiate their own business.
2. The club aims to provide guidance to aspiring young students to pursue their business.
3. The club aims to help students to cultivate start up business ideas, teach them basic strategies like estimating cost and write up a Business plan.
5. Fun with Maths
Maths is a skill, which inculcates all kinds of logical and rational mind. In our Maths Club, we nurture and promote certain activities, where a student learns and understands the complex thought processes and develops the Critical Thinking Skill. Here we teach the application of Mathematical Principles in real life circumstances, fun with mathematical practices, Sudoku, different types of puzzles etc.
Our overall objective behind this club is to create a logical mind, which thinks 'out of the box' and challenges the existing principles of mathematics with his/her logical mind.
6. Culinary Art (Home Science Club)
It is not just about ingredients, recipes and cooking. It is about harnessing, imagination, empowerment and creativity. A great way to educate children about good nutrition, cultivate food netiquettes, impart basic sewing for enhanced motor skills, as well as create expressions of colour with colour-filled home decor ideas for better living. Such activities pave the way for the child's improved language skills, boosts their self-confidence and helps to build their endurance.
So get ready with a pinch of patience,
A dash of kindness,
A spoonful of laughter,
And a heap of love
To bake the world a better place.
7. Community Service Club (SEWA)
In accordance with one of the core values of our school, viz: Social Responsibility, we have set-up, our Community Service Club.
The main objectives of this Club are:
(a) To develop empathy towards fellow human beings in general and students in particular.
(b) To participate in charity drives.
(c) To develop a sense of compassion towards environment and participate in conservation of nature.
(d) To develop an egalitarian mindset and participate in activities that promotes national integration.
(e) To work for strengthening universal brotherhood.
8. ATL & Robotics Club
STEM Education has played a vital role in modern education domains. It has not only changed the prospectus of teaching Science but also changed the course of its action. It provides a platform for the students to learn and develop skills in robotics, electronics, mechanics etc. The programming and engineering through hands-on projects in a supportive and collaborative environment. It will help the students to access a variety of robotics tools and equipment, such as micro-controllers, sensors, motors, and 3D printers to build and programme robots. It fosters a culture of sharing ideas, teamwork and collaboration.
9. Artificial Intelligence and Coding Club
Artificial Intelligence and Coding is considered as one of the essential skill of 21st century workforce and one of the basic key ingredients of 4th Industrial Revolution phase. It is expected that more than 75 % of the workforce will be depended on this skill. Therefore, being a “Forward Looking” school, it's our responsibility to inculcate this skill among our students. Our ambition is to prepare the students of Middle and Senior Classes to not only learn the coding and A.I. but also to create the app or develop the game based on it and get recognition at National and International Level.
10. Model United Nation and Global Connect
The MUN Club will have a series of programmes and activities planned for the session commencing from April to December, 2023. The club members are from Humanities Department.
The main objective of the club is to make the students prepare and understand about the United Nations, educate students about world issues and promote peace through cooperation and diplomacy. The students will be taught to foresee the issues that might arise in the global arena and devise measures to solve them through activities like debating, drafting resolutions, public speaking, negotiating and research on recent topics. These activities will help the students to build confidence among themselves and be a future asset of the country.
