Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award By Govt. Of India

New Delhi, October 28: NPS International School, Guwahati scripts history as the much-hyped and coveted “Best of All Awards” of the Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Control Award, 2013 was handed over to the school authorities in a glittering function organized here on Wednesday.

Otherwise dominated by the front-ranking institutions of the country, including SAIL (Steel Authority of India Limited, Bhilai and Bokaro plants); ITC Limited (ILTD Divisions); Kirloskar Cummins Limited, Pune; Larsen & Turbo; Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Limited, Anand; Tata Motors Limited, UP; Indian OIL Corporation Limited, Vadodara etc., in the “Best of All Awards” category over the years, the Guwahati based school becomes the first organization of the Northeast to win the award.

The award carries a cash amount of Rs 5 lakh, a commendation certificate and a gold-plated plaque. It aims to promote quality services to the consumers and to give special recognition to organizations that contribute significantly towards the quality movement of India.

Presenting the award at NDMC Convention centre here, Alka Panda, Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and Rajat Moona, Director General, C-DAC were all praise of NPS International School, Guwahati in its achievement. “Since NPS become the first organization of the Northeast to win the award, this development will definitely inspire the people of the region. This will create new vistas in the development of the entire area,” Lamba said.

Union Cabinet Minister Ram Villas Paswan had to cancel his attendance in the meeting as chief guest due to some unofficial circumstances.
