Students of NPS International School, Guwahati distributed relief materials among the flood-affected villagers of Mikirgaon village of 38 No Tulsibari Gaon Panchayat in Morigaon district on September 7, 2015.
Relief materials comprising food items like rice, dal, disposable glasses, water, biscuits, and clothes, etc., along with mosquito nets, candles, match boxes, bleaching power and books which were distributed among a large section of villagers living on the embankment there. The NPS students and teachers distributed the relief materials and interacted with the people living on the embankment.
Expressing his willingness to distribute more such relief materials among the flood-hit people of different areas of the State in days to come, director of NPS International School, Guwahati, Mr. JN Das, said that the authorities in NPS organize such camps every year in flood-hit areas. “From time to time we are organizing medical camps, relief distribution camps, etc., among the flood-hit people in different areas of the State. We are always with those people during this hour of distress,” he added.
